Hi Deborah,
ReplyDeleteI like your Lyndon B Johnson's quote because I feel that education is an opportunity to learn and explore. Some people don't get the opportunity to receive an education, think about our ancestors, a lot of them only made it to forth grade if that. So we should not take education for granted, but embrace it as a privilage.

ReplyDeleteYour quote from Dr. Buysse connected with me. I work with preschoolers with developmental delays. I have witnessed that with peer models; they do elevate their social skills and expand their play. It really is quite inspirational to see children “teaching” each others in such an impactful way.
ReplyDeleteHi Deborah,
ReplyDeleteVirginia Buysse stated that children should be provided opportunities to play and interact with their peers. My students are given the opportunity to play and explore their environment. I design my lesson plans to include creative expression and exploratory play. These learning activities support young learners growth and development.
Louise Derman-Sparks belives that students need to grow and develop in a nurturing and intellectually stimulating environment.
Such great quotes! I agree with what Virginia Buysse said about children needing to have access to different playmates to develop skills that are more advanced, complex and coordinated. Also liked the quote by Nelson Mandela about Education being the most powerful weapon to change the world.
ReplyDeleteYou chose some quotes that really show your passion in this field! I especially like your quote from Lyndon B. Johnson on education being an opportunity, not a problem. It would be nice if more people viewed education this way and helped provide for all children! Your quote from Nelson Mandela is also very moving, you made a great selection!
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for your comments.
